SHIPIBO CIRCLE DOUBLE HEADED SERPENT Grey Marle Pullover Hoodie
Upon reading anthropologist Jeremy Narby's "The Cosmic Serpent," I was moved to create a collection that embodied the book's central ideas. In indigenous societies, the double-headed serpent is a symbol of great significance, as it represents both the duality of nature, yet the interconnectedness of all things. Narby posits that this emblem may also signify the link between DNA and indigenous knowledge, for the double helix structure of DNA resembles the dual-headed serpent, a similarity that indigenous peoples may have recognized through their ingestion of psychoactive plants. The intricate symmetry and complexity of the double-headed serpent may have engendered a deeper comprehension of the natural world, which found expression in ancient mythologies and cosmologies.
